Partners in Ministry

What is Partners in Ministry?  It is the pastor and members of the church working together following the teachings of Jesus.  All who are believers are Partners in Ministry and that includes all who are members of Christ Church.  Jesus could not do the work of the church alone and chose 12 disciples to assist him.  This process continues even today.  When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior we accepted his call to be Partners in Ministry.

Our Bishop appoints an ordained pastor to be our spiritual leader and mentor, but like Jesus the pastor can not do the work alone.  Below is a list of the people who have accepted the Partners in Leadership positions of Christ Church.  These persons can not do the job alone and need the help of the entire church.  They are always in need of prayer and as they meet and discern how and where Christ Church is being calling do ministry.  As followers of Jesus and members of Christ Church we are called to assist in doing these ministries.

If you have any questions about any of the ministries of Christ Church or would like to suggest a new ministry please feel free to call any one of the persons serving in your area of interest or attend the meeting of the team.  You would have voice at the meeting but would not have a vote.  The Staff Parish Relations Team is the only meeting that is a closed meeting as it deals with personnel issues.  Also if you would like to serve on one of the teams please contact the pastor or a member of the People Resource Team.

Church Council

The church council provides for planning and implenenting all ministry programs of the church.  It provides administration of its organizatio and evaluate the mission and ministry of the church annually.

Meets 1st Monday of every month at 6:45 p.m.

Staff Parish Relations Team (SPRT)

The duties of the SPRT include to encourage, strengthen, nuture, support and respectthe pastor, staff and their families; promote unity in the church; and to be liaison between the congregation and pastor/staff, handling any concerns that may come up.  Although concerns may be brought to any member of the team, all meetings of the SPRT are confidential.

Meets 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

Trustee Team

The Trustee Team is responsibile for the maintenance and upkeep of all church property, building and equipment.  Also review of insurance polices, handicap accessibility of buildings, and building use policies.  Oversee all bequests, gifts and endowments the church my receive.

Meets 2nd Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

Finance Team

The Finance Team is responsible for preparing and submitting to the Church Council a budget annually for approval, making provision of an audit of all records, reviewing the budget monthly and providing direction to the treasurer and financial secretary as directed by Church Council.

Meets 3rd Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

Audit Team

The Audit Team annual audits all financial records for the previous year.

Meets as needed in January and February as needed

Nominations and Leadership Development Team

Meets Quarterly or as need

Nurture Ministry Team

The Nurture Ministry Team is responsible for areas of caring for the congregation.

Meets Quarterly

Outreach & Ministry Witness Ministry Team

The Outreach & Ministry Team is responsible for mission and ministry beyond the local Church.

Meets 3rd Monday of every month

Preschool Board

The Preschool Board is responsible for all areas of the preschool program.

Meets 2nd Tuesday of every month 

Stewardship Ministry Team

The Stewardship Ministry Team is responsible for the stewardship education of the congregation on the use of time, talents, and treasuer.  Also plan and conduct of an annual stewardship compaign.

Children's Ministry Team

The Childrens Ministry Team is responsible for areas of ministry to children from infants through 5^th grade.

Meets 2nd Tuesday of every month

Youth Ministry Team

The Youth Ministry Team is responsible for all areas of ministry to youth from 6^th grade through 12^th grade.

Meets Quarterly

Worship Ministry Team

The Worship Ministry Team is responsible for all elements of the worship services.  It works closely with the pastor to plan holidays, chancel decorations, music for choirs and praise team ansd special music.
